Take some time to reflect in your journal: What are you addicted to? Are there things you feel you ‘must’ do, instead of ‘enjoy’ doing? How often do you check in with your thoughts? What are the kind of thoughts that you could examine further?

WHY THEY MADE THE FILM
“This film was commissioned by The School of Life. I was given the script and voiceover of the topic to work with. I was also given total creative freedom to work on this animation. It helps to have the creative freedom because the topic is very sensitive and abstract, it pushed me to work outside the box to find the best visuals and metaphors to represent the contents the philosopher Alain de Botton wanted to convey.”

I can connect with this sentiment. I may not be addicted to drugs, alcohol, and anything illegal. I am addicted to things that make me feel better and take my mind away from what I can truly being what is within myself.
A useful reminder of the breadth of addiction potential in our lives, which in a way makes admitting to it less isolating.
As a traditional recovering addict, I love the inclusion of sport and the mention of self-righteousness.
