Reflect & Connect Calls
To help older adults who may not have access to video technology or wifi overcome social isolation, we developed the Reflect & Connect Calls program which uses telephone calls to help spark creativity and social connection. This program involves creative arts activities conducted over the phone to address key issues for aging populations, such as memory and resilience. By using one of two curricular options, either visual arts or inter-generational storytelling, participants work one-on-one together or in small groups over the phone with their facilitator for six interactive sessions. Each session is structured around creative expression, mindfulness, and social and emotional learning. We have had positive feedback that not just the participants enjoy this, but the facilitators and participating sites greatly benefit from these conversations and activities as well.

Components
Founded upon a research-based methodology, these sessions are carefully tailored to a variety of populations – from older adults to college students – to create unique experiences that address participants’ specific needs and align with partner organizations’ goals. All of our programs are structured around three key components:Â

Creative Expression
Interactive art programs provide positive physiological and psychological health benefits by fostering a deeper connection with oneself and others.

Mindfulness
We use a variety of high-impact activities to help individuals better manage stress and develop pro-health routines.

Social-Emotional learning
We rely on group discussion and self-reflection to help participants foster a stronger sense of connection to themselves and others.Â
